Details
When we started work on Adventures and Outlaws, we knew we were getting in to something that could very easily bury us in work. Our goal was to design a full-fledged RPG-style game based on pirates, and Adventures and Outlaws meets that call. Within the first twelve hours of the competition we already had a working engine for the game which included a level editor and basic controls.

With the editor finished, I began work on the guild's quest system and designing the battle system. The battle system itself went through numerous iterations before we eventually decided on the final version. Also, by the end of day two, Josh had finished all of the music and sound effects so he spent the remainder of the competition designing the world map (which is huge, I must say).

By the end of the competition, we planned on spending the last end finalizing the game's storyline. However, Josh and I were both enrolled in a summer-school weight training course for high school which we ended up being forced to attend in the last 5 hours of the competition. After having spent the previous 65+ hours working nonstop on caffeine and chips we had to then run laps and lift weights for two hours before finally returning and finishing off the game.
